To work on and edit an existing . FDX file in Final Draft Cloud, the file first needs to be added to your Vault, and then it can be opened and worked on in Final Draft Writer. To work on it in Writer, the file needs to be most recently saved in FD13 and not contain some of our more advanced features. For more details, please see this article: When I try to open an .FDX in Final Draft Writer, I get this error: "Unsupported FDX: This file contains features that prevent it from opening at this time."
There are two methods to add your .FDX files to Final Draft Vault.
The first has you set up syncing between your local and Final Draft Vault via the Final Draft Vault Sync Utility. Here's how to do so:

The second method involves manually importing an .FDX to your Vault, which is useful if you only have one file to move, you don't need to sync files, or you have an older version of Final Draft.
To manually import an .FDX, open Final Draft Cloud, sign in if needed, and open your Vault. From there, click Create in the top left, and click Upload...:
A new window will open asking for you to navigate to the .FDX file you would like to import. Navigate to where the file is saved on your computer, and double-click the file, or click the file once and click Open.
The file will start uploading to your Vault, and when complete, show up as the first file in the Files view of your Vault.
You can open the file in Final Draft Writer by double-clicking it. You can also move it to a Project or share it with another Final Draft Cloud user.
