Once your Final Draft Cloud subscription has lapsed, you will have 30 days from the lapse date to preserve your files.
Any files still in your Final Draft Vault after 30 days from the lapse date will be PERMANENTLY deleted.
To move any files you'd like to preserve from Final Draft Vault, you can use one of two methods: manual downloading, and syncing back to your local device.
Manually Downloading Files
In Final Draft Vault, you can manually download individual files, or entire Projects.
To download an individual file, navigate to the file in question in Vault, click the three dots to the right of the file name, and click Download.
You will then be prompted to select a location on the device you are using to download the file. Click Save, and the file will be downloaded to the location you selected.
You can also select up to five files at once by holding CMD on Mac or Ctrl on Windows and clicking on the files in question, then clicking Download in the toolbar in the top right:
To download an entire Project, click the Project once so it is highlighted, then click the Download button in the top right toolbar that appears:
You will then be prompted to select a location on the device you are using to download the Project. Click Save, and the entire Project will be downloaded to the location you selected.
Syncing Files to Your Device
When your subscription expires, your access to the the sync app stops and your session is terminated. So, if you would like to use the Sync Utility to download your files, please make sure to do so before your account expires.
To sync your files from the online Vault into your local Vault folder, click on the Final Draft Sync Utility icon on your desktop -- located in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS). From there, choose "Settings" which will open a new window.
Locate the option for "Bi-Directional Sync." By default, this option is not turned on. This is because files only remain encrypted while they are stored in the online Vault. They are no longer encrypted when stored on your computer.
Toggle the button "on" and confirm you wish to enable Bi-Directional Sync.
You can then click "Sync Now." This will download all of your online Vault files to your local folder. From there, you can save them in a folder on your Desktop, or your Documents, wherever you'd like.
