Final Draft Writer is currently unable to open Final Draft files using certain production features or other advanced functionality offered by Final Draft 13. When you receive this message, it means your file is using those functions. These include:
- Track Changes
- Revisions
- Alt Dialogue
- Omitted Scenes
- Locked Pages
- Tags
- Images in script
For scripts in active production, we strongly recommend to continue using Final Draft 13 on desktop. Production features for Final Draft Writer will be added soon.
You will need to remove any of the above functions in your file to open the file in Final Draft Writer. If you are unsure of where those functions are in your script, or you want an easy way to remove them while preserving the text of your file, we recommend rebuilding your file using the steps here:

and then adding the rebuilt file into Final Draft Writer.
