A "Project" in Final Draft Vault is a folder for all of your work on a specific piece, regardless of format. You can have a "project" that consists of 10 different drafts, images, video files, PDFs, whatever you like. Think of it like adding a brand new folder to a file cabinet, or opening up a brand new notebook: whatever pieces that you feel are relevant to the overall project can live in there.
To create a new Project:
After signing into your Final Draft Cloud account, click the "Create" button in the top left of your screen. Then choose "New Project." This will open a new window where you can customize your new Project, with areas to detail the title, logline, and summary.
Once you fill those out, click "Create Project" at the bottom of your window. That Project will then appear in your list of projects in your Vault. (Note: you may have to use the arrows to scroll through all of your projects, as only three fit per page).
To add a file to a Project:
Open your Project by double-clicking it. From there, you can choose to "Upload a File" by clicking that button. You can then browse through the files saved to your computer and select the one you would like to upload.
You can also choose "New from Template." This allows you to create a brand new file in Final Draft Writer, which will then be saved directly to that Project.
To move a file already saved to Vault into a Project:
Locate that file in your "Files" list. Click the "..." all the way on the right of your screen. Choose "Move." You can then select the Project you would like to move this file to and select "Move":
To organize files within a Project:
Open your Project by double-clicking it. From there, you can choose to Create a Subproject. This allows you to create new folders within the main Project folder to help you remain organized. You can then upload or create files to that subfolder specifically.
You can share an entire Project with a collaborator, or just files within the project. To share the entire Project, click your Project to highlight it. Then, a menu bar will appear above your Projects. Choose "Share" and select the appropriate user from your address book:
To just share a file within that Project:
Open your project. If necessary, navigate to the SubProject your file is saved to. Then, click to select the file you wish to share. Click "Share" and select the appropriate user from your address book:
You can also download files from a Project onto your device. To do so:
Click your Project to select it. From the menu bar which appears, choose "Download." A popup window will appear. Once again, choose "Download":
