Stopping the cursor from blinking requires changing a setting in your computer's operating system. Below are the steps for Mac and Windows.
Mac
- Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Select System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).
- In the System Settings window, click on Accessibility in the sidebar.
Scroll down and select Display from the Accessibility options.
Find the setting named "Prefer non-blinking cursor". Turn on the Toggle Switch next to this option.
Windows
- Click the Start button or press the Windows key at the bottom of your screen.
- Type “blink rate” in the search bar.
- The search result should show “Change cursor blink rate”. Select it.
- Drag the “Cursor blink rate” slider all the way to the left (to None).
- Click Apply.
- Click OK to apply the changes
