Final Draft's spell-check is automatically set to English (United States). So, even if you are writing in another language, anything that would be a misspelled word in English (US) will be marked with a red underline.
To avoid this, you can change the spell-check settings. Final Draft will then check your spelling and only mark words that are misspelled in the language you have chosen. To make these changes:
- Open Final Draft
- Go to Tools > Spelling
- In the new window, click the “Options” tab.
- Next to Language, click the dropdown menu. This will give you a list of options to choose from.
- Select the appropriate language and close out of the Spelling window.
When you return to your script, only spelling errors in your chosen language will be underlined in red.
