During the purchase process, you will have been prompted to create an account with your email address and a password. These credentials will be needed when FD13 is opened for the first time.
Download the Installer
After purchase, you should have received an email with links to the installer files -- here is the Windows installer link again, for convenience:
Install Final Draft
Click the link to download the installer, which, when the download is complete, should be visible in your browser's toolbar.
If not, open an Explorer window, navigate to the Downloads folder and double-click the Final Draft 13 zip file.
When the zipped file is double-clicked, you'll see the Windows Installer Package file:
Double-click this and follow the prompts to complete the installation by clicking the affirmative choice (Next / Yes) on each subsequent screen.
Open Final Draft
To open Final Draft 13, click the Windows Start button and begin typing "Final Draft" (without quotes) until Final Draft 13 is presented as a clickable choice. Alternatively, choose All Apps (Windows 11) or click the Start button and from the list of programs click the Final Draft 13 icon.
On first run, you will be asked to agree to the End User License Agreement by reading it and clicking I Accept and Next.
Enter the email address with which you registered during the purchase.
Click Next, enter the password you created and then click Sign in.
At the next screen, opt in or out of the data collection; after that you will come to the start of a brief onboarding section which helps Final Draft offer you a personalized program experience.
Have fun writing!
