In Final Draft 10 / 9 on Windows, the left margin is correct in the .fdx file but is too small when I save as PDF.

Close Final Draft, if it's open.

Windows 10:

1. In the Start menu, right-click on the Final Draft 10 / 9 menu item;
2. Choose Run as Administrator.

Windows 8:

1. On the Start screen, right-click on the Final Draft 10 / 9 tile (if it's there);
2. Choose Run as Administrator.

OR

1. On the Start screen, type "Final Draft" (without quotes) to call up the Final Draft 9 tile;
2. Right-click it and choose Run as Administrator.

Windows 7 / Vista:

1. Go to Start Programs;
2. Right-click on Final Draft 9;
3. Choose Run as Administrator.

From this point on your Final Draft PDF exports should have the correct left margin.

IF THIS DOESN'T WORK

1. Go to the Windows Start menu;
2. Locate the Final Draft icon;
3. Right-click it and choose Uninstall;
4. Follow the prompts to uninstall;
5. Download the installer from our website: https://www.finaldraft.com/support/;
6. Open the zip file, then drag the Final Draft Setup file to the Desktop;
7. Hold down the shift key and right-click the installer;
8. Choose Copy as Path;
9. Click on your Start Menu and type "cmd" in the search. Then right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator;
10. Right-click in the command prompt window (following the symbol) and the file path of the installer will paste in automatically;
11. Press Enter;
12. Click Run and the installer should open;
13. Follow the prompts to install Final Draft BUT when you reach the last screen, UNCHECK the box to launch the program;
14. Finish the installation;
15. Go to the Windows Start menu;
16. Locate the Final Draft icon;
17. Right-click it and from the More submenu, choose Run as Administrator.

NOTE: Activation service for Final Draft 9 has been discontinued and this version of Final Draft is no longer activatable (or re-activatable) to run in full mode on any computer. The program will continue to work but only on a computer that is already activated and only if nothing is done to the computer that will deactivate it (such as an OS upgrade or a replacement hard drive).
