FD's dictation feature (Mac only) allows speakers of English to use a variety of spoken commands to put formatted text on the script page. In addition to being able to dictate scene headings, action, character names, dialogue and other kinds of script content, the English-speaking user can use voice commands to insert new paragraphs (saying for example "new scene heading") or keystrokes (saying for example "Tab") or punctuation (saying for example "question mark").
Natural-speech dictation is also supported. For example, the user can say "Bob enters the office and sits down and says Hello" and it will turn into
Bob enters the office and sits down.
Unfortunately, this functionality is not available in languages other than English. However, speakers of other languages can dictate their action and dialogue. They will not be able to use voice commands to insert new paragraphs, keystrokes or punctuation. Natural-speech dictation is not supported in any language other than English.
