Final Draft 12 / 11 / 10 / 9: If you have OS 10.14 (Mojave), 10.13 (High Sierra), 10.12 (Sierra*), 10. 11 (El Capitan) or 10.10.3 (Yosemite) or later, go to Edit > Emoji & Symbols and choose Latin from the list on the left. Double-click or drag to the Final Draft page the letter you want. Note that not all accented characters are supported, but many are.
You can also press and hold the key of the accented letter you want to insert; a small menu will appear and when you click on the accented letter you want, it will replace the non-accented letter on the page.
If you have 10.10.2 or earlier or 10.9 (Mavericks), 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or 10.7 (Lion), go to Edit > Special Characters to bring up the Characters window.
Once the Characters window or the Character Palette are open, from the list on the left choose Latin or Accented Latin for accented characters or choose another category. Once you've found the character or symbol you need, drag it right where you want it in your Final Draft document.
NOTE that Final Draft 10 and older do not support Unicode, so there may be characters and symbols you won't be able to use. Unsupported characters are usually rendered as a question mark, a slash, a box or some other symbol. If the character you want isn't displayed correctly after it's been pasted, typed or dragged into your script, you won't be able to use it.
Final Draft 12 / 11 do support Unicode and users of FD12 / 11 should be able to use most symbols and accented characters. Information on upgrading to FD12 is HERE.
