If you have Final Draft 11, 10 or 9, the license cannot be transferred to someone else.
If you have Final Draft 8 or earlier, you and the person to whom you're giving or selling the license will need to fill out and return a Transfer of Ownership form. This form allows us to take your name off the record and put that person's name in. Until you and that person send us this form and we process it, the Final Draft license will remain your property.
When you transfer your software license to someone else, you must at the same time transfer all original materials and destroy all copies of the software and documentation that remain in your possession.
Transfer of ownership applies to all versions of a product. For example, if you first bought Final Draft 5, upgraded to FD8 and then decided to sell off your older copy, you would have to relinquish the copy of FD8 too. It works the other way as well: If you upgraded to FD8 from FD5 and then decided to stay with the older version, when you go to give away or sell FD8, you would have to transfer ownership of the older version too.
This does not apply to versions of Final Draft that were not upgrades, but you must fax or mail to us a copy of the receipt that shows you paid full price.
