Question
In Final Draft 8 on Windows, when I save a script as PDF, the PDF pages are blank.

Answer

This can occur if there is no default printer driver assigned.

  1. Close Final Draft, if it's open;
  2. Open the Devices and Printers folder;
  3. Right-click on a printer driver (any one will do, including the Final Draft PDF Converter);
  4. Choose Set as Default Printer;
  5. Open Final Draft and save a script as PDF -- there should now be text on the pages.

IMPORTANT: Live technical support (phone, chat, email) for Final Draft 8 will end on December 31, 2017. You will still be able to find information and solutions in this knowledge base, in the online troubleshooter and in the FD8 User Guide.
