Uninstalling Final Draft 8 from a Macintosh computer

Answer

Uninstalling Final Draft 8 from a Macintosh OS X Computer:

  1. Go to the Applications folder and open the Final Draft 8 folder. If there are any scripts (or other items) you need saved here, move them out of this folder.
  2. Drag the Final Draft 8 folder and the Tagger icon to the Trash.
  3. Delete the Final Draft preferences:
    1. Mac OS X 10.11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 users:
      1. Go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal;
      2. Type defaults delete com.finaldraft.finaldraft.v8
      3. Press Return on the keyboard;
      4. Quit Terminal.
    2. Mac OS X 10.6 / 5 / 4.11 users:
      1. Go to Macintosh HD > Users > username > Library > Preferences;
      2. Drag the file named com.finaldraft.finaldraft.v8.plist to the Trash.
  4. Delete Courier Final Draft: Go to Macintosh HD > Library > Fonts and drag Courier Final Draft to the Trash.
  5. Empty the Trash: Finder > Empty Trash.

To reinstall Final Draft 8, do not use an installation CD (if you have one).  Instead, download the installer from HERE.
