Question
How can I open my script in another word processing program?

Answer

You can save your Final Draft file as an RTF file, then open it in the other program.

  1. Go to File > Export (FD10 / 9) or File > Save As (FD8 / 7);
  2. Choose RTF or Rich Text Format under Save As Type on Windows or Format on Mac.

Keep in mind that while the text will still be formatted as a script, some other attributes such as page count, ScriptNotes™ markers, bookmarks, revision marks and scene numbers will not translate.
