Question
Can I change a script's format without retyping it?

Answer

Yes. With your file open, go to Format > Elements. Click Apply a Template (FD10 / 9 / 8 / 7.1x) or Load (FD 7.0x / 6 / 5). You will get a list of various formats. Select the format you want and OK your way back to the script.

If you want to load the formatting elements of an existing file, click Browse (Windows) or Other (Mac) -- the "Other" menu item is located at the bottom of the template list.

Click OK. The script will now be formatted as a stageplay, sitcom, "New Girl" episode, whatever you selected.
