Question
When I import a script into Tagger 1, it returns an "Unmatched Parentheses" error.

Answer

If you inadvertently leave an open-parenthetical

(

or a close-parenthetical

)

as a remnant of a character extension (V.O., O.C., etc.) next to a character name and import the script into Tagger, Tagger will not be able to resolve the lone parenthetical when it tries to automatically tag the character's name in every scene. This is the resulting error message:

Open the script in Final Draft and scan it for character names with lone parentheticals, then remove them.

Once the problematic parens are removed, the script will import into Tagger without any problems.
