Question
Can save a script -- Error 43

Answer

If you're able to save the script:

If you have a USB jump or thumb drive or an external USB drive, try saving the file there. If not:

  1. Go to File > Save As and save the file as TEXT ONLY to your Desktop.
  2. Repair Permissions on your hard drive:
    1. Go to Mac HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
    2. Choose the First Aid tab and then select your boot disk. (It'll probably be listed as Mac HD).
    3. Click Verify and Repair Permissions. This may take some time to complete.
    4. Restart your computer.
  3. Go to Mac HD/Users/username/Library/Preferences and if it's there drag com.finaldraft.fd7.plist to the Trash; empty the Trash.
  4. Open Final Draft 7, go to File > Open and choose the text-only copy of the script.
  5. Choose Script when prompted and you'll have your script again.
  6. Go to File > Save and give this new copy of the script an appropriate name. Work from this new master.

NOTE Live support for Final Draft 7 has been discontinued. You will still be able to install, activate and use FD7 on appropriate computers but email, chat and telephone support is no longer available. Live activation assistance is still available via phone (818-789-6281) and email and chat (links on the left side of this page).
