Answer

NOTE: All support for Final Draft 7, including software activation, has been discontinued. You may find solutions to problems in the online knowledge base or in the PDF manual found on the installation CD.

  1. If possible, deactivate Final Draft: Open the program and go to Help > Deactivate and choose Online Deactivation; if the computer doesn't have internet access, click HERE for directions on how to do a manual deactivation.
  2. Close Final Draft.
  3. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs.
  4. Choose Final Draft and click Remove (if you're on FD8 / 7 / 6, you'll get three options; choose Remove].
  5. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel> Fonts.
  6. If you see the Courier Final Draft fonts (regular, bold anditalic), delete them. They should have been uninstalled during Step 1 but if they're still there, delete them now.

  1. Go to C: Drive > Program Files and locate the Final Draft 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 folder.
  2. Check to make sure that there are in this folder no scriptsor other files you need. If there are, move them elsewhere. [Note:FD5's backup folder is in this folder; move it to the Desktop if you want to keep your backups.]
  3. Delete the Final Draft 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 folder. Next, you willdelete the Final Draft registry key:

  5. Click on the Plus sign next to Software.
